新西兰人信仰什么意思?
New Zealanders believe in God, but not necessarily the same way you or I do. 74% of us claim a belief in God, compared to only 5% who would say they are atheist (the lowest proportion of any country surveyed). But when asked "are you convinced that your God exists?" 23% were unconvinced, while another 19% were unsure. It seems many New Zealanders' beliefs are little more than a cultural legacy from their British and Irish forebears - we have a tradition of respecting Christianity, no matter what other faiths there might be. And this includes Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Jews, all of whom feel free to practise their religion here without discrimination.
There is also widespread acceptance among New Zealanders of the idea of life after death – 66% of us believe in heaven and 65% in a place of eternal reward for the righteous. Another 83% believe in some form of reincarnation, though 48% felt the soul could be reborn into lower animal forms(如昆虫). For those who don't believe, there was an option to leave blank.
The research, commissioned by the Government as part of its push on religious freedom, found 12% had no particular faith. The study involved 50,000 people across 23 different countries.
